In order to reduce the amount of garbage being shipped out of our Town to landfill sites, the Town Council decided to purchase compost bins at a regular price of $25.00 each and sell to the residents, at a discounted rate of $10.00 each. The initial purchase was for 25 bins, due to popular demand, the Town ordered an additional 25 bins.
In addition, the town also ordered 25 of the kitchen recycling buckets for $10.00 each and sold them for $5.00 each. This program has been so successful that all bins have sold out. The recycling and composting initiative has drastically reduced the number of garbage bags that are going to the dump.
