Minimizing our impact on the environment is a priority for our town. Although we do not have the population to support a full recycling depot, and many residents simply didn’t have the means to travel to the nearest depot in Clarenville themselves; the Town has put a large recycling bin near the Town Hall.

KC Recycling, in Clarenville, agreed to come to the town when the bin is full and pick up the recyclables. All monies accumulate in a community account set up with KC Recycling. When a significant amount of funds is reached, it will then be donated on behalf of the residents of Come By Chance to various charities of choice.

Items that can be recycled:
• Aluminum cans – soft drink cans, beer, juice, flavoured drinks
• Drink Boxes (terra boxes) – juice, milkshakes
• Plastic & Glass Bottles – soft drinks, water, juice, flavoured drinks, liquor bottles, imported beer
• Steel Cans - juice

* Please prepare your beverage containers for recycling by removing all caps & straws, empty & rinse, and remove any garbage that maybe inside.

Do not place the following items in the recycling bin:
• Motor oil bottles & used motor oil
• Used Tires
• Batteries
• Paints & Solvents
• Other household hazardous materials.

* The Town of Come By Chance will alert residents when it will be collecting Household Hazardous Waste/Materials for safe disposal.
