The Town of Come By Chance is constantly working to improve the town as a whole in many different aspects. Below you will find some of the initiatives that have been recently completed or are currently underway.
Town Square
The Town of Come By Chance has been constructing a town square for the entire community to enjoy. This town square will include history boards for both the history of Come By Chance, and the history of the Cottage Hospital. With flowers purchased by the town, the Tidy Town Committee did a beautiful job beautifying this area with all their hard work.
Scholarships
Each year the Town of Come By Chance supports the local young community, by providing each post secondary student with $500 towards their education expenses. These scholarships are given for each year of studies, and are not dependant on average grades or credits, allowing all post secondary students to take advantage of this generous support of the town.
Volunteer Incentives
Due to the high number of volunteers within our community, the Town of Come By Chance holds a Volunteer Appreciation BBQ each year. This BBQ is the town’s way of showing their appreciation for al the hard work the local volunteers do for the community.
In previous years, during the BBQ volunteers have been presented with tokens of appreciation such as polo shirts, jackets, hats etc. This year, the town donated a total of $1400 to Daffodil Place on behalf of the volunteers - $25 for each of the 56 volunteers in the community.

Hats On for Health
During the summer of 2007, the council decided to help protect children from the damaging effect of too much sun exposure. The town provided each child within the summer program with an official 'Town of Come By Chance" hat. In addition to the hats, the town contacted Hawaiian Tropic and was delighted when they provided enough sunscreen for all the children in the program for the entire summer.
